Designing a character from scratch is a long process. Here's my birdbot 'Hoobert', who's been in development since 2016.

It started out as an owl. At one point we switched to robotic, and with time I've pushed it more and more towards a scrappy inorganic look.

I used to be so scared of drawing backgrounds and I think that when you don't have a lot of confidence it's hard to look at your work and know that both characters and background look crappy. But once I gained confidence drawing people I vowed to start getting better at BG work!
