@hellgrimer gradient maps are a gradient applied onto your art,affected by how light/dark the value of the drawing is- in csp i typically go to layer -> correction layer -> gradient map, lower opacity to 20-30%, set mode to color/overlay/normal and it adjusts the colors according to value :)

Steps 3 and 4: cleaned up value block-in, and a quick color-overlay onto grayscale to get an idea of colors. I airbush in the colors in this pass typically. Tried brighter oranges and greens but they looked super bad, and I tuned the "base" back to add more colors carefully.
Steps 1 and 2: sketch and block-in. I am a very, very messy sketcher, and my typical sketches for clients takes 2 passes to preserve their sanity. Here's my messy early steps in full glory. I wanted the painting to be dark, thus started value block-in from a dark grey.
With how much modern movies alter classic stories and try to subvert expectations, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs feels oddly refreshing despite (or because of) being a typical fairy tale. There is padding, but that just means sitting through more golden age animation.
