I got a question about my shading process so I thought I'd share. First has my character flats with their standard colors. Second is the shading layer as it appears under Normal blending mode. Third is that same layer set to Multiply. Last, a pink wash Overlay.

I've long admired these beautiful originally painted by Ohara Koson c.1900 and have really enjoyed blending them into this piece. As a piscean I am surprised I haven't created a fishy image before this.
