Copypasting or reusing your assets isn't a bad thing. You made them. You can use them as a point of reference, to set a template for the atmosphere of a new setting or project, or to save time that can spent on more important setpieces

That's what I don't like about sevral modern cartoons, they make all characters soft. I guess that's just personal preference, that I like the older cartoons that had a lot of hard edges, but I think a healthy balance of both, depending on character would be ideal.
