I use concave eyes 90% of the time! However i do deform them to appear less flat and paper like on alot of models. I then rig them in such a way that they still have the same sort of rotation as a sphere. Also leave good space for the eye socket!

I painted this character's dad (a major villain from the campaign) a few months back, but I couldn't re-use the 3D because I ain't gonna figure out how to rig a jaw or whatever. Luckily Blender sculpting is quick and fun :v
