Yep, always vectors. I primarily use the Polyline tool as it is good for curves and straight lines without having to switch to the individual tools for each.
The last piece I did that was mainly freehand was It Was Always You (colour with no background below)

Been playing with the SAI2 technical preview lately, namely with linework layers, shapes, and path controls. Ended up vectorizing all the linework on a drawing of Nisha I had started in January. The amount of control one has on curves and line thickness is just... Astounding.

Quickly create and configure mesh surfaces from bezier curves. Ideal for creating accurate machine parts or for more organic modelling. https://t.co/VBxxiCFYIH

Right then! Now, the second portion of the path is ready! It's pretty difficult when the path curves so much...

So, that art trade from the other day still isn't finished, which means I'll take a break to deal with it.

Sister took me out to do some "Treat yoself" therapy, and I got 2 outfits that go way out of my comfort zone. I like my curves. I just hate my arms and the sack left from when Curly was yanked out of me through my guts. They cute though.

I did a LOT of experimenting (+ trying it with curves -> too many polys) and ended up settling on this shape that I can define more with texturing and then I layed it 'on top' of the rest of the hair which is working....

for now.......? :'')
