I think that dynamic with Shiva is why Cassandra is the one who is more trusting of them, then say Jim/Jason (until the later see's Rose is with them). It makes her more reasonable given she knows how screwed up the world is now, and normal is not possible any longer.
Shiva/Cass fighting to the death has been done to literal death. The two of them being in an actual mother/daughter relationship? GIMME! I just love that both Taylor and Hill are both hitting this niche with Shiva and at the same time.

Markandey who wanted to keep his parents happy decided that he will take blessings of long life from Lord Shiva and for the same he decided to penance himself in front of Shivling. He CREATED and chanted the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra.

Remember how I told y'all to keep those Batgirl arcs in your mind? Here's a bit from #72, the penultimate issue in that run. To me it's always sounded way too melodramatic and emotional for Shiva, even a little bit metatextual with the whole hero/story thing, but...
Shiva's concern for Cass was what gave them a decent escape strategy. Without her, they would've ended up in who knows where instead of an easily-defensible position with other survivors.
So I'm not gonna say she saved everyone because this still *is* DCeased, bu-u-ut...
Anyway, the baddies' retreat is crashed by a very undead Wonder Woman, and with Savage splatted early in the chaos, Shiva takes command and leads the survivors back through Mirror Master's portals and into the orphanage and hey
You know what that means, right?
Anyway, Shiva is ushered off at gunpoint and we get an oddly tender moment where Cass offers her to stay. And although Shiva refuses, they still acknowledge each other as family.
It's good to note that by this point Cass has had nearly all of her own found family die...
Anyway, things pick up real quick next issue where it's revealed that Shiva has been tasking Mirror Master with finding Cass, who's made it to an orphanage in Bludhaven with Gordon, Jason and Ace the Bat-Hound.
Now, DCeased is an alternate universe, and it's not clear...
But first, a quick round-up of all the times Lady Shiva has appeared in an Elseworlds/Alternate Universe comic and what happened to her:

- Dark Multiverse - Knightfall: shot full of even bigger holes.

@deadletterpoets What's weird about this is that even without the (completely valid) AU excuse, there is *absolutely* a main universe precedent for Shiva admiring Cass.
I know y'all seen at least that second page before.
But in a world of people who rail against characters like Talia or Poison Ivy being written as anything but irredeemable she-monsters hell-bent on world destruction, it's nice to see folks being so receptive to the idea that maybe Shiva doesn't have to be a villain all the time.
