How about Nausicaä? I think the outfits look simple BUT when combined with the visually convoluted backgrounds & monsters, they look great. Gives a place to rest after exploring the scenery IMO.

Hey - I'm a digital artist making bizarre and visually interesting art using deep learning / AI tools. To be honest I am more of a mad scientist than an artist but a lot of my stuff turns out looking really cool anyway. Maybe we should be worried about that.
