I mean some of my favorite titles retain the medieval fantasy aesthetic, the difference is they weren’t greyed out and super serious. Even older titles than these of course had a refined palette due to tech limitations, but it still had a charm to it atop the key character art.

told me to do something with the skin so i put David's face on face app and made him an old man lol

also practiced not zooming in too much to focus on the bigger picture, depth and values, up close it's not refined but that's ok :)

Ha, glad you're enjoying it! And yes the more finished assets have a lot of fun texture play.

Careful what you zoom on tho. Most new stuff like the flowers starts out totally trash, just big-brush blobbies, and gets refined over a few cycles once I decide I want to keep it ;)
