Lo salvaje de fauvistas como Matisse, la expresividad de Van Gogh, los interiores de la australiana Margaret Olley o la escenografía de Hockney influencian el trabajo de Sarah, y todos ellos tienen en común la destreza con la que usan las combinaciones de color sobre su tema.

Tanto en la obra de interior como en la floral, el proceso pictórico de Sarah suele comenzar con un pequeño boceto de gouache para determinar el color y la composición de la pieza antes de pintar “alla prima”, aplicando capas de pinturas al óleo.
