I think Sonic Forces 100% had the right ideas in the conceptual stage. They had the visually creative levels, high stake Unleashed inspired story, ambitious ideas, no pandering, etc. You can tell they wanted this to feel like a 2000s Sonic game.

With Halloween on its way, I decided to do some fanart of 🎃Liddell🎃 and 🍬Princess Gretel🍬 from A Witch's Tale! I loved this game a lot as a kid and I used to play it around Halloween back in the 2000s. A shame it's underrated.
