Doodled some lightly Utena-inspired Marith in a double-slot power outage, then decided to experiment a bit with colouring on one layer, and generally keep myself loose with colour blocks. Then just threw a RGU rose sigil and some galaxy in there, and we're golden (purple).

After a long search for references on Pinterest and shooting some of myself, I start working on polishing the shapes in Photoshop looking for balance in the values and use of textures. I always remind myself to go from big general strokes and shapes and then the details.
