For some strange reason there are people who believe that they have a right to see your diagnosis to prove you're not self-diagnosed.

1. Self-diagnosis is valid.

2. No one has a right to see your diagnosis if they're not your doctor.

The Lancet's report has some good things in it, it really does, but all the talk about wanting Profound Autism to become a separate diagnosis taints it, and feels like such a step back. 1/2

I find that if a loved one is depressed my depression kind of gets pushed to the back of my mind in order to help the other person. It's not exactly the healthiest way of dealing with my own depression.

While this is technically true you don't need to snuggle to have a healthy, happy relationship. Don't force yourself to snuggle if you don't want to.

The phrase "everyone's a little autistic" annoys me so much because it's not only wrong, it's so easily disproven. If everyone was a little autistic then why are autistics so othered?

I got you beat! I have two autobiographical stories in two books from 2018: one chronicling my Title IX lawsuit to play soccer on the high school boys team (there was no girls team) and the other a short ode to the undergrad experience at MIT.

5) meaningful/resonate with: although all of my aspec + arospec characters and stories are super meaningful to me, and ALL have particles of my own experiences woven through them, none of them can ever resonate *as* closely as biographical/sona stuff!
