One of the joys of looking for one artist's work is accidentally finding another's. It was a delight to find some of Brian Hope-Taylor's wood engravings in this way.

These illustrations are from "The Lake & the Woods", 1951.

This would have been good- an featuring every one of the 71 engravings and etchings from monumental ‘Liber Studiorum’. These per produced in series of 5 and were accompanied by a letter indicating the subject. A- Architectural P-Pastoral ect.

The collection houses a set of engravings of the 28 statues placed around Maximillian's tomb in Innsbruck in 1519

These are all inspired by Scrimshaw engravings. These were artworks created by whalers, engraved on by products of whales.
