Tsukuyomi is the Japanese deity of Lunar events in Shintoism, being born from Izanagi’s right eye during his cleanse after his descent to the Underworld, making him the brother of Susanoo and Amaterasu.
In the story, Shikome is an ugly hag (or hags) sent after Izanagi after breaking the promise he made to refrain from looking at her in the Underworld.
Yomotsu-Shikome literally translated means "Ugly-Woman-of-the-Underworld," however, other accounts lead to this being plural.
Izanagi performed a cleaning ceremony, to rid himself from contact with the dead, and during his bath, a number of deities were spawned.
Amaterasu from his left eye.
Tsukiyomi from his right eye.
And Susano-o from his nose.
In the long run, Izanagi and Izanami procreated a metric ton of different Kami, most of which have either surpassed them in popularity, or have become one of the focal points of Shinto.
Susanoo-no-Mikoto, or simply Susano-o, is the pillar of #SusanooSaturday, and is a Kami from Japanese lore.
Much like Take-Mikazuchi on Thursday, Susano-o is from the story of Izanagi, and is the brother of Amaterasu.
