For fun I did my own take on a hypothetical Ray Doll for Tails Doll's D-Sides replacement. He has a Time Stone from CD, Mighty's shoe pattern to mirror how TD has Sonic's and his glove cuffs from Ray's modern design! And a no mouth variant.

The thing that makes it hard for me to critique IDW Sonic's artwork and have people take it seriously is that by all means it's objectively good artwork, and I just subjectively don't like how it tries to make the characters look too cute for my liking.

I don't think that drawing Sonic's spikes like that is bad, because even I did it like that and it's OK, (Although not because of IDW's influence, but of my FC Elmet and his hair that points backwards and not to the sides)
