My thoughts: Finn always was a Jedi, in the EU - his name was Kyle Katarn. A stormtrooper that defected to rebellion after witnessing the empire’s brutality, he stole Death Star plans, foiled dark trooper program, & became respected Jedi. Boyega would’ve done the role proud.

I love the Sequels, I really do.
But Finn will go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities of the franchise, right along side Boba Fett.

This is a key scene depicting the state of mind of the people during the transition into the Empire. They were provided with basic living needs. Something the Republic did not provide for them when the Jedi were in power. So they willingly signed up to be Stormtroopers.
