@JackaryDraws Breath of Fire III. One of my buddies owned it growing up, and it was the first non-Pokemon RPG I ever saw. Being able to fight with 3 people at once blew my mind lol. And the hand-drawn sprites, jazz-inspired ost, and narrative about self-discovery have always stuck with me!

Fire Emblem doesn't need a super in-depth story per se, but this game did absolutely nothing to hold my attention. After Three Houses blew my mind with its storytelling and characters, this just felt deflating.
