it depends on the kind of character you're making, but generally i keep it simple. tho i like having hair overlap with itself or parts of the character's body to give it a sense of depth even when in reality the shapes and design are very simple

What sold me the series in ep1 of I just couldn't pass on a show where the main character's hobby was to make AMVs.

And the second one is a self-caricature of , the show's creator, who also does her voice. That's the kind of humor TOH does all the time.
