I leave you with an enhancement of a 1912 autochrome by Alfonse Van Besten. A young lady posed amongst the marguerite daisies, 110 years ago. I thought you may like seeing a before & after comparison. I've not painted on any additional colour, just boosted what was already there.

Really struggled with this one, but finally settled on my Highlander, Amelot. She lost her eye as a young adventurer, & the glass eye she wears doesn't quite match her natural colour, not having the gil for a custom eye.

With the Anime simplifying the Sakura uniform's skirt to a singular colour, it makes it easier to animate
But when it comes to the ED once the short animation is done, it can be reused constantly without having to reanimate it.
So to me it makes sense they brought the tartan back
