i think it's gotta be the direction :'v braixen's ear fluff has this nice upward diagonal direction that it wants to go to, whereas delphox's just sits perfectly like this ⬅️➡️LOL and as a result you have these "saggy" lines that i highlighted here that are really unflattering

composition: since your lighting is like diagonal and u hav 2 focus(face and butterfly) it makes the rule of thirds pretty good here, once that is decided just put the things according to the composition

My trick for shading and not having the colours look muddy is to go to one side on the colour wheel and then diagonal within that colour (if that makes sense). It adds more dimension and interest, and keeps everything looking clean and saturated!
