I mean Flaming Espinas just seems to be the mainline version of the Espinas Subspecies.
Its just that it and the Rare species dont have names like Azure Rathalos,Fulgar Anjanath or Viper Tobi Kadachi so I guess they just looked at its main gimic and just called it that.

You know, it really does just feel great how Sunbreak not only brought over a frontier monster into the mainline games, but also brought in it's sub species as well.

Hopefully we'll get to see even more frontier monsters show up in future updates and/or games.

Even though Fire Piranha Plants first appeared way back in Mario 3, it took a while for an ice-based variant to appear in the main games! There was a blue-colored one in Paper Mario before that, but of course that didn't carry into the mainline series.

For those who wondered, while they commonly have Angelia (天使) in their name, the "Angels" of Battle Spirits belong to the family Divine Spirits (天霊)

Digimon with Angelic characteristics also share this family with the mainline Angels
