I think people often forget that Madeleine’s obsession with cooking isn’t ambition

It’s because it’s the only good/worthwhile aspect of herself she sees, and is the only thing she thinks she can offer Sherry

Like, Madeleine HATES herself at this point in the story

People remark on how Lucy helped all the Dimanche chefs she met, but I made the decision that there had to be at least one she didn’t!
