NASA's lucky peanut superstition began on this day in 1964. The Ranger 7 Mission succeeded after 6 previous attempts failed. An engineer brought in peanuts to ease prelaunch tension and 7 was a success. Peanuts have been a must have for launches since. Recipes for Good Luck
