It is definitely an interesting idea, but the evidence can be a bit shoddy. History can be weird like that sometimes. It is possible. In any case, many popular culture depictions in Japan have since made Kenshin out to be more "feminine" after this theory was proposed.

Same honestly, all we had back then were Etch A Sketch, Lite Brite and MS Paint with a shoddy mouse

Kids these days have it good with their cheap, amazing Clip Studio Paint, tablets and a plethora of tutorials at their disposal compared to our crappy "How To Draw Manga" books :P
