Some fun speculate biology. Herpaxis are mammalian herbivores who live on grassy steppes in burrows. Males will butt heads for territory control, and the right to mate with a harem of females. The larger ears point back for sounds behind them, with smaller ears pointing forward.
This led me to speculate that Archforce had the potential to be as threatening or more so than he was, although related to Megatron. (Tarn is a possibility that Archforce being built to look like Megatron had some effect on him and made him a torture enthusiast.)
