Well, got the script/thumbnails planned out for my animatic assignment- Now I just got to refine my thumbnails to be easily readable, get some basic shading done, put it all together and add effects and sound….

For me, I start by sketching an outline on a separate layer. Then I paint using other layers (1 layer for skin, 1 for hair in front, 1 for tentacles, etc.).

If I need to refine edges, I use the eraser tool.

Basically, I'm painting the picture, not drawing it.

I had a lot of fun with this experimental illustration, I got to test out some new brushes and lighting effects as well. I’ll have to refine them more to be completely happy with it but this is my new favorite of my OC Drykon.
