The Yule Log is a chocolate cake depicting the huge wood log that ancient Celts blessed & burned from the winter solstice until the end of December. They thought that by burning it the sun would be encouraged to return.

Ok, so I've changed tack on my approach to the winter solstice challenge. Still planning to finish the other one, but that's going to take longer than a portrait. This is based on the fairytale figure of the ice queen; same character that Elsa is based on, but much darker.
