Not only you have to battle shortage of coders, high GAS, incredibly difficult hiring, cut throat competition, limited sales but also you have to somehow appeal to the brainless crowd ('number go up or i dump') which is hard

I feel the same way, just add bad art direction. None of the characters are memorable, design wise, and at worst unappealing. For instance, I get that they were trying to give the main character heart-shaped hair, but the way it sits/moves looks so awkward.

As an artist who has influences in the Western superhero comics, I will say some definitely aren't as flashy as manga. Dynamic? Hell yeah, but I 100% could understand why it's not as appealing. However i'd say these comics' pros are kinda more so environments or even concepts tbh
