I usually draw expressions a little exaggerated, but I have been Stunned™ at how Tom Sturridge can make his face SCREAM emotions while barely moving it. So I challenged myself to try & capture a smidgen of that intensity – & also play with different coloring methods.

I usually use transparent watercolor, but this time I tried acrylic gouache (opaque watercolor made of acrylic resin).

Both are "watercolor", but this gives a solid feeling.
Which style do you prefer?!

Thankyou so much!! 💖✨ Oh I do have one small tutorial I made a while ago and it's how I shade the characters. The main lighting and ambient lighting colour is usually dependent on the background (eg: day vs night)
