Very interesting!
In Japanese term,"furries" is "ケモナー(kemonah)".
Probably,different between furries and kemonah cause confusion.

At least,term "kemonah" and lolis are not necessarily contradiction.

fun fact to address a leetle confusion people have about the costume design: Into The Midnight City is actually set Now-ish, not in the 1800’s or whatever, but they all just dress Like That most of the time.

Hence things like the hairdye and the shoes
