Smaugust day 3: I reached out to some really awesome people last week and the people who responded gave me really amazing feedback on my body of work. My goal this month is to focus on my value grouping, and to make my environments more lively. started working on colors today.

Decided to try something completely new for Smaugust and try a more ink-painterly style for my East Asian zodiac dragons. Super uncertain about this & exprrimenting feels lukr a risk, but I feel I also need to use this as a chance to push through my insecurity abt my skills.

I was pretty inspired by the designs of the Falmer and the Pale Man, hence the more humanoid take on this creature. I usually don’t draw creepy art, but imagining encountering this creature in the dark is scary to me. ^^
