In tandem to this 'Ghostbusters' kick I've been on lately, returning to another series that has some parallels, sharing the theme of spirits but calmer and closer in nature to animistic Shintoism: #Mushishi. The tea to my coffee, if you will.
I shared these comparison clips on Tumblr when episode 49 first came out, but I'm feeling very KitaMana right now... so here they are again! There were some really nice parallels to their first meeting ^^

I think about this panel a lot and the sort of parallels that could be drawn with present day Kappa. One aspect I'm curious about is the seeming bags that are drawn under Kappa's eyes. It could just be a stylistic choice, but with Kappa trying to meet god, is there something more
