You know, I don't think anyone ever made mentions of this, but the Buizel and Hippopatas lines are based on animals that primarily live in the opposite environments to their Pokemon counterparts.

I saw this on a disc. server and like, fuck I was salted by the colors. The original was made by diamond bonnie, I just couldn't stand by and let the colors annoy me so I did a little redesign.

As far as I'm aware, this concept for the series was first introduced in the 3rd Gen of Monster Hunter. In the 3rd Gen, it's used as a way to explain why the Raths and Diablos look and act a bit differently from their 1st - 2nd Gen counterparts.
