For anyone not familar with Japanese,ドラゴン specfically is referring to European-styled dragons. For dragons that are akin to the oriental-shape, those are generally asssociated with 竜 (Ryu).
Hm, now isn't there a certain Pendulum X Digimon that has Ryu to it's name? Ryudamon!

I personally think in some remote jungle some small bird-like dinosaurs may still be alive, something small enough to survive the mass extinction, and bird-like enough that early European explorers and natives wouldn't realize it's a dinosaur. No living sauropods sadly
