im not the best person to ask about black hair since i rarely draw characs with black hair

but looking at rinko you can see most of her hair is a lightish brown, it's only the shadows that appear black but it's those shadows that let you know her hair is black and not brown.

I'd also point out that, having spent a lot of time in Asian communities in particular, a lot of black hair is not hex-value 000 black, or charcoal gray for that matter. It's a very particular shade of brown, which I'm still trying to get just right.
