I personally have only one issue with Evan's designs and it's this thing they do with this expression leaving the middle brow as if it was glued to the default position.
Other than that, amazing artist that I admire A LOT but I totally understand why some people might not love it

To list my actual problems with IDW Sonic’s art direction right now…

1. Sonic and a lot of other characters are drawn as way too soft. If this was just Evan I would not mind it so much, but Adam even started doing it too:
