means not being able to actually focus on a things I want to without mentally overwhelming myself but being able to hyperfocus on shit casually when I’m hyped up on a new character idea or I’m fuckin’ around

it’s great seeing everyone’s detail-oriented hyperfocus work but if a piece takes me longer than 3-4 hours I WILL cry and give up

I mostly draw original character designs and adoptables, but sometimes I also draw fanart! Drawing is something I get hyperfocused on, issue is once I stop, it’s hard to get back into it. Despite teacher complaints, it helped me better focus when I was in school.

my ADHD has always been a struggle but i found art as a way to express myself and hyperfocus on something. though i can't seem to stick to one style due to getting and will jump around working on 5 drawing at once

Joining the tag. I have a diploma in Illustration, but it actually became really hard to draw for me in the last year, but I'm trying to restart. I kind of wish my hyperfocus could be on drawing sometimes ;_;

i tend to jump around a lot of subjects- painting is calming but I end up hyperfocusing
without breaks ; u ; '''

the experience: it's either colouring sketches before they're done and getting too lost in the chaos to finish the piece, or Into The Hyperfocus Zone, there is no in-between

I either spend weeks drawing many pieces to the point of hurting myself or neglect my ipad entirely while I hyperfocus on something else and nothing inbetween 🙈The thought of forcing myself to practice every day has always felt overwhelming.

Ayy I'm _EE! My hyperfocus used to be school, but I haven't really figured it out in art yet. Focusing on art is like pulling teeth for me these days. I end up making a line then being distracted by the internet or getting up from my computer to do other things

is, in many ways, like a blessing and a curse. I only realised recently the ways it’s been detrimental to my learning as an artist over the years but the silver lining of hyperfocus is that you can catch up in good time! ✨

Ok Ill jump on this wagon is either me hyperfocusing on one singular drawing until my eye lids give up of just scrolling through pinterest wanting to do everything that is there in 3 minutes

so glad to have a tag that gives us a shoutout! most of these were finished in rare bouts of hyperfocus lol

Ohh
For me, means i /have/ to finish a piece as fast as possible,bcs i am impatcient. I rarely or never use refs and usually draw from memory, and when i hyperfocus on art i forget everything around me for hours until my piece is done😅

Tw: blood, nudity
To me is hyperfocusing on a thing, but also not being able to stick to one style or subject. Sometimes you could even ask yourself "is that the same artist?" Yes, it is 😬

hiiii my adhd half the time makes me hyperfocus on my art and half the time unable to draw at all x__x
