I’m not an expert but it kind of looks to me like the fur comes out and down much further on the left side compared to the right. As it looks bigger than the right side of the muzzle that we see. Might be why it makes people think it’s front facing. Just my guess though.

Whisper is a green, canine like spirit. His ears and tail are a bit larger and he has a shorter muzzle than a wolf. Magical antlers grow and shed on his head daily or weekly, they can be any type of antler, natural or creatively magical.
