Also I really don't want more of the "less lands than your opponents to function" thing White does. It punishes you for running land ramp in your deck. It makes these cards work against themselves. Your Hawk doesn't just turn itself off, it turns off your Knight too. Blech.

So, here's a long ramp-up: The blue virus-type Metalgreymon came first in 1997 and orange vaccine-type Metalgreymon came later for the cartoon in 1999, but then the over-the-top orange X-antibody form came in 2003 and the RIDICULOUS blue X-antibody form is from 2019!

There's other cool things that feel R/W but are resource intensive for little or risky battlefield development. Dash, equipment/auras, level up, etc. Zirda stuff.
BUT - RW has no card selection or ramp. It's hard to feel safe playing these because you fall behind tempo so easily

Yes, exactly. It's a 3D model with a simple shader to ramp the colors, and then rendered at a really low res. without antialiasing.

Im experimenting with intentional color ramps vs a painted texture. This is the color ramp no specular.

Tweaks to outline. Pushed away from camera view a bit to reduce intermodel clipping.

Added a 1-frensel mask to eat away at AO texture just a little bit.

Gradients are from a secondary UV channel with an offset V ramp. Zero Banding!
