Challenged myself with a more complex scene for this value study. I like the way it “feels” and I believe it’s because of the contrast—the bright light coming through the window vs. the dark tiles. Time to go to bed! 🛌

Here’s another three-value study, which turned into a fully rendered piece. I feel it could use a bit more contrast, but I’m ready to move on. Quite a tough one with the diffused overcast light. ⛅️

This started as a three value study, then nine values, followed by a bit of in-between shading for the final render. It appears to be a good way of getting to realism without spending hours on details.
