Well I suppose it depends from person to person.
For me it's like any character if I like the characters story or design I like em if they boring then I tend to ignore. Also I tend to like cute things hell my own OC is technically a Loli similar to the tornado sisters.

Something I tend to have fun doing is using a limited palette that naturally has some colors that 'ramp' into each other and using that for shading. I gravitate towards it a lot on personal stuff but rarely in comms. I should make it easier for ppl to say "do my comm like that"!
