I made a nighttime, cel-shaded version of the previous picture of Hu Tao I drew. I figured this may work better with my phone screen. But it's still a little difficult to read things that overlay the art so I'll probably make a new design for my phone at some point.

on the layer that you kept as a Normal layer, add a little bit of an outer glow. then start gradually erasing this layer, revealing the overlay layer beneath it and softening the highlights

- super rough sketch
- blocked in values
- render in bw, add overlays for atmosphere
- rough colors with “vivid light” and overlay layers
- then tweak colors with the curves and color balance!
