Je pensais que Naoki Urasawa avait dessiné Yawara! pour surfer sur la popularité de la judoka Ryōko Tani / Ryōko Tamura, mais cette dernière n'avait que 12 ans quand la série a débuté en 1987.
A noter que Fighter's History et World Heroes ont chacun une judoka baptisée Ryōko.
