The wargaming nature of early D&D was integral to the game. The other part was the dungeon-crawling aspect.
The wargaming aspect became rare while the dungeon game flourished.

I have done some map & UI work for My Little Pony: World! Lots of my concepts have also made it into the game.

The map was a joy, I really got to explore and figure out a style which fit a vintage and handmade vibe :)
