I’ve never been into horror so it never bothered me how much of a departure this was from RE at the time. It still works as a thriller for me with its emphasis on ammo management. Moreover it plays like a dream and the campy story hits a good balance for me.

It's simply the fact that I want to hope. We have good bipedal starters who still look like fierce beasts. But we also have amazing quadruped starters. And none of them look like people in costumes. (Blaziken maybe, but it never has to me so I've never been bothered).
