Sometimes when I'm sketching stuff, I go through layers and layers of refinements just to get to a worse sketch.. So I just end up using the first sketch instead. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Day 220: Adjusted base skin tone, added basic shade, and did some stuff with hair, using a guide and some references. It's not very refined, but it doesn't feel too bad either.

I know that MVC2 is the one that everyone goes nuts over (and rightly so it's amazing), but idk I've always liked MVC1 more. It's not as refined, and the assist mechanic is a little weird at first, but its simplicity and charm has always made me prefer it a little more.

i also helped out with editing the standard dialogue (ace vs bf) and did some concept stuff like gf and bf's new outfits and the original logo design, chichi refined gf's outfit (changed the colours and added the hat), whilst wolf finalised the logo design

the more stick figure-y style (from my first 2 animations) was actually the style i originally planned to use for all of my animations but i later changed my mind to refine the style i used to this day. sometimes i wonder what that might look like if i kept using the old style

's character, Axel, was a good choice! I wanted to draw him with a body shape I thought fit him -- a bit round, but not by much.

Sneak peek from tonight's stream. Working on the plants! Don't worry - that isn't grass. They are the grass-esque Isoetites sp. and Lycopodites hannahensis. Also, some very painterly Ruffordia goeppertii. Larger ferns are to be refined.

i'm experimenting with the front hair physics, so it's a new technique for me (using 3d physics) but i really love how the bangs look
