Old vs New, not real improvement, more like Art direction change, and trying to get a slightly more "fun to look at" design (like removing some symmetry)
Halo 5 was grand, bold, and willing to push the universe in new directions.
It's narrative wasn't without missteps but it was not content to simply play it safe or settle into a status quo.
So I’ve finally caught up on FGO in NA and I did not fucking expect this in the second half of Lostbelt 5. The writing is so good I was genuinely shocked, surprised, and happy all at the same time. I’m so happy with the direction it’s going in and can’t wait for lb6. Also spoiler
Playing w/ AI prompts. New to this but totally addicted!
"A detailed painting of three luminous jellyfish floating in a lavish Victorian era living room, Charles Giraud"
First 2 by #discodiffusion, other 2 by @midjourney, same prompt. I love how they went in different directions
Currently reworking my own brush to be a version that suits my needs in the art direction I'm going for. So far it seems to be doing nice 😳💖
Thoughts??

Boba searching for his armor in the destroyed Sarlacc pit. Design direction @doug_chiang #thebookofbobafett #starwars #conceptart #digitalart
Yeah! That's my Ys Origin/Ys Seven article all scheduled and ready to go! I hope you like it - it ended up going in a different direction to what I expected, but that's all part of the fun :D
(It also means I'm still observing/listening rather than regurgitating old thoughts too)
works perfect for RR too since that flatness lends itself to the street art aesthetic, i'm glad i pivoted into this direction instead of trying to force a super polished and rendered anime style like i was trying to do back then (all pictured from late 2017-early 2018)
Ultimate value is rapid generation of a 'mood board'. provides enough for stylistic direction decision making, and enough elements that can be mix/matchd in final art. Yielded poses backpack designs proportions etc I would have otherwise not explored. Selected as key ref:
2022.7.4 release.

i had the biggest Yoshitaka Amano phase when i was like 20, he'd been my main influence for years, in the end i took a radically different direction stylistically but his work still fascinates me... lately i've been thinking i should maybe go back on those tracks a bit
tbt when my driving teacher asked me how i am with directions and i told her "mm well sometimes i have to do the L thing to tell which is right and which is left".
@AGearox i had two different directions i could have taken the prompt of "extreme kirby rage". i settled for both of them
