Alright, so I'm not the best at explaining things, but the most important part of lighting are your shadows and highlights. That's how you define shapes. Unless you're going for horror, you want to keep your primary (key) light at least 45 degrees away from camera...

2/2 after that id keep duplicating the orignal shape and then either isolate parts manually with the zmodeller brush or use the split/ trim tools to make other kinds of shapes. Since its all coming from the original shape then the contour should remain pretty much the same too

In short, I stopped drawing frogs and started drawing landscapes. Jokes aside though, I am really happy with how I started lockdown having not drawn anything in about 8 years, and now I'm actually really quite happy with my understanding of colour in landscapes!
