Dear Nakyumie,
Few years later, will you be happy?
After all that happened, can you smile again?

#painterofthenightseason2 BNK denied his homosexuality/ SH denies loving someone /Jihwa denies loving a low-born/ Nameless denies that nobles can be good/innocent people.😭That's why the heartache!😭
#PainterOfTheNight
I have a question & it’s been bothering me for so long. It’s about Jihwa’s hair. His hair length is bothering me because if he didn’t cut it short recently, then it would be longer. Did he cut his own hair bc his family was against him liking SH or men?
Okay hear me out.
I know that there's never a real human being who can surpass or be at the level of Yoon Seungho's handsome face but this is one of the steong candidate who can play as him:
Lee Soo Hyuk as Yoon Seungho
#PainterOfTheNight
LRT I can't draw but I couldn't resist and edited one for my Ginger Princess. Does that make Jihwa a catboy?
Two topknots for the soul!

The next time you hear someone says Nakyum is useless, ask them if kindness that can withstand anything is so useless that all they can see is a plot device or an object representing a romanticized taboo. Ask them if hope in such a dark story is useless.
#PainteroftheNight
Nakyum still has a lot of growing to do, ofc. He's still living in the shadows of Inhun's words, & can't believe himself to be worthy of real love after that. Who do you think can help him believe otherwise? Seungho. Yet no one reduces SH to that role alone. #PainteroftheNight
It's true that he plays a vital role in Seungho's character development, but he doesn't exist merely for that purpose. He's his own character, too.
Just because his growth isn't as starkly visible as Seungho's doesn't mean it's not there. #PainteroftheNight
The closest thing to his spirit breaking happened when he's called a whore by the very person he admired—the person who's supposed to take care of him outside the kisaeng house. But even after that, he's still proven himself to be strong (hello, season 2!) +
#PainteroftheNight
But there are big things, too: not ratting out Seungho to Inhun even if he cherished the latter and *hated* the former, & defending Deokjae even if the guy was literally going to break his fingers moments earlier. If YOU'RE in his shoes, would you be as kind? + #PainteroftheNight
As if that's not enough, he had to "give up" his art too, after his learned sir punished him for it, made him promise to never make such depictions again. His pure heart must've been suffering so much that he had to numb it with alcohol every chance he gets. +
#PainteroftheNight
I think of Nakyum as a portrait of strength and kindness that perseveres in an environment designed to crush it. He's struggling even BEFORE he met Seungho: growing up in the margins of a society that's unkind to outcasts, selling his art to survive. +
#PainteroftheNight
& what are we going to do if later we found out Nakyum is the missing son/brother of the King & his mum left him to Kisaeng house bc she’s a lowborn & the Queen or someone so powerful threatened her that they would kill Nakyum bc he’s half noble half lowborn?
